Who We Are

The Heart of Maine Resource Center was founded in the winter of 2020 to provide support to community members in the Maine Highlands region where 1 in 5 people and 1 in 3 children experience food insecurity. We connect community members with the resources they need to thrive.

HMRC Food Pantry Update

Dear Neighbors, We’re grateful for the opportunity to continue connecting our community with food and supportive services. As we grow, we’re making an important transition to better serve you. Our last mobile food distribution will be Wednesday, May 6th. This distribution remains open to anyone. After this, we will begin transitioning to a new food pantry model at Dexter Town Hall, with services starting Wednesday, June 3rd. New Pantry Hours (by appointment only) Every Monday
